Cast member: Jennifer Ellison bandages broken wrist after Calendar Girls piano accident

She broke her wrist in an attempt to save a piano from falling over, but Jennifer Ellison was eager to get back to work and returned to the stage just 24 hours later.
And now the extent of her injuries can be seen in the form of a huge cast on her right arm.
The actress was seen sporting the pink cast outside her Fame Academy in Liverpool, where wannabe celebrities can go to learn the tricks of the trade.

She was taking a break before tonight's performance of Calendar Girls at the Sunderland Empire theatre.
In the notoriously naked production, the former Brookside actress plays the piano, and underestimating the weight of it proved detrimental before Wednesday night's performance.
She attempted to keep the injury shielded from sight today using her Louis Vuitton handbag, but the small bag was no match for the big cast, which she has to wear across the enitrety of her right forearm.

The Liverpudlian star injured herself just minutes before the curtain was due to rise.
A show insider told the Sunday Mirror: 'It was chaos because it all happened just half an hour before the curtain went up.
'The piano began tipping over and Jennifer bravely tried to stop it but she didn’t stand a chance.

'Everyone knows it weighs a ton because they have to move the thing around from theatre to theatre.'
The source also stressed there was no foul play and it was simply an accident that led to a fractured her wrist and damaged ligaments.

The incident occurred half an hour before the show was about to commence in front of the Sunderland Empire on Wednesday night.
Jennifer's understudy was called in at the eleventh hour to take over the role of Miss September.

But ever the professional, the former Brookside star was back at work the next day sporting a bright pink cast.
Jennifer, married to boxer Robbie Tickle with whom she has one-year-old son Bobby, strips off in the show which follows the tale of how WI members pose naked for a calendar to raise money for charity.
Her spokesman said yesterday: 'She is back at work doing the show.
'Everyone in the business knows that Jennifer is a real trouper and won’t let anyone down.'
