Dior spring / summer 2011 collection
On the 1th of October at Paris fashion week, Betti Peig opened the show-presentation of Christian DiorSpring/Summer 2011 Ready-to-wear collection. Her quote “I was never the girl next door” has sounded for the whole world. And if we hadn’t delighted after the colour spectacular we saw in Milan, that day show has obviously amazed us.
John Galliano made a impressive ready-to-wear show. It was not a new that Dior had “dropped anchor at a South Pacific naval base”. Thereof the show has begun with a coming of girls in a naval uniforms, brightly red lips and wavy hair.
White sailor’s hats were fine accessories to the oversized white parkas and cotton trousers. More fitting dark blue waistcoats and chiffon jumpsuits “easily” looked and had a carefree appearance.
Summer dresses were violet and pink, bright orange, turquoise and green. Necklaces decorated necks, belts ra-ra decorated hips. The denim jumpsuit was super-sexy, evening dresses of Galliano became more professional and difficult.
Such accessories as tapes, cockleshells, feathers, flower necklaces have been chosen. Falling down black or dark blue chiffon on dresses looked as a flower.
