Emmy Awards 2011: Paz de la Huerta fails to set the red carpet alight with a dishevelled hairdo and badly done make up

She puts in a glamorous turn as former cabaret dancer Lucy Danziger in Boardwalk Empire but in real life it seems Paz de la Huerta doesn't quite live up to that image.
The actress arrived at the Emmys last night looking decidedly dishevelled, hitting the red carpet in LA with a bright orange face, poorly-styled hair and unflattering lipstick.
In comparison with both her on-screen character, and the rest of the ladies who appeared at the Nokia Theatre, the actress looked a little rough around the edges to say the least.

The actress, who turned 27 earlier this month, has become renowned for her devil-may-care atttitude - one which has bagged her a modelling contract with Agent Provocateur - however, perhaps a little more attention to her hair and make-up wouldn't go amiss.
And of course a smile would have paid dividends as well.

However, aside from her hair and make up, there was no denying that Miss de la Huerta's ensemble perfectly complemented her stunning figure.
She wore a pink gown - slit to the top of her left thigh - which she matched with a pair of sparkling heels.

Late last week Miss de la Huerta appeared to be struggling to stay awake when she joined the cast of the HBO show to celebrate the launch of the second season of the Prohibition saga.
The brunette, who has declared she is 'not an alcoholic', seemed dazed by the glare of cameras as she posed on the red carpet and even grabbed her cleavage apparently to rearrange her dress.
In fact, the Agent Provocateur model seemed singularly unprepared - or maybe nonplussed - for her moment in the limelight.

In July Miss de la Huerta admitted that she harassed a reality TV figure in a confrontation at a New York bar.
She pleaded guilty to harassment and was sentenced to a day of community service and 12 weeks of alcohol counselling by a judge.
'I'm extremely glad this is over,' the actress said after acknowledging in court that she threatened to hit Samantha Swetra at a chic Manhattan hotel in March this year.

Miss de la Huerta was accused of punching Miss Swetra in the face, giving her a bloody nose, and tossing a glass that left cuts in her leg at around 4am  on March 20 at the Standard Hotel.
And, in January, the actress was so drunk at the Golden Globes that she was turned away from the ceremony's after party before moments later falling on her face outside.
She also unwittingly flashed her left breast as she was escorted to a car by a friend.

It's this kind of behaviour, it seems, that landed her a modelling contract with Agent Provocateur.
Creative director of the lingerie brand, Sarah Shotton, told WWD: 'We always try and choose girls that are true Agent Provocateurs, and she definitely is AP through and through. She's got an amazing body and she's naturally very, very sexy.'
Meanwhile Martin Scorcese picked up an Emmy for outstanding directing for a drama series for Boardwalk Empire.

The pilot episode of the series, which is set in 1930s Prohibition-era Atlantic City when mob bosses ruled the seaside town, was directed by Scorsese.
And the man behind GoodFellas revealed that, if he had his way, he'd like to direct more episodes.
Scorsese said: 'I've always dreamed of working on a project where the characters can develop over a period of time.
'You can develop plot, characters... and get more done over a longer period of time. It gives you more licence and much more freedom.'
